Safety Coordinator

Overview:

UIG is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety and compliance for our division in all areas of the business. The Safety Coordinator ensures a strong culture of safety and compliance by leading by example and partnering with leadership to implement best practices across all locations. This includes overseeing safety programs, training, audits, and regulatory compliance while monitoring environmental, health, and safety initiatives for plant operation and corporate office locations. This position represents a very high level of responsibility and individual contribution. This position is remotely located but requires travel to the UIG operations locations and the Bethlehem, PA office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that safety is a core value for all team members by promoting a safe work environment through leading by example.
  • Champion and promote a strong safety and compliance culture implementing programs to ensure teammate safety and company regulatory compliance.
  • Work with the leadership team to establish operational safety best practices at all locations.
  • Manage, deliver, and conduct training and audits on various standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor the safety, health, and environmental performance of the locations and recommend priorities and actions for improvement.
  • Ensure and monitor on-site compliance of company safety regulations for both teammates and third-party contractors.
  • Conduct incident investigations in conjunction with plant management and provide guidance to the leadership team on incident reviews.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings in accordance with training requirements.
  • Work alongside HR regarding teammate injuries and OSHA filings, providing effective case management.

Field Service Technician - Lexington, NC

Overview:

UIG is currently seeking a Field Service Technician located in Lexington, NC. As the sole UIG teammate responsible for this location, the successful candidate is required to be proficient in air separation plant technology and have knowledge/aptitude in mechanical systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, and process operation controls. The Field Service Technician must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative in resolving issues, planning, completing required maintenance, and managing site operations. This position requires 24/7 on-call availability. Occasionally, overnight travel may be required for training and/or plant support activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all safety, quality, and compliance activities at each plant location.
  • Perform routine maintenance and manage maintenance schedules on process equipment.
  • Perform calibrations on a variety of process equipment including centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating compressors, gas analyzers, instruments/transmitters, electrical/PLC equipment, and pneumatic control valves.
  • Manage own time to accomplish operations and maintenance tasks for assigned plants, which includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving plant problems.
  • Coordinate contractors and resources, both internal and external to UIG, to support activities, audits, and all administrative requirements for the plant.
  • Maintain plant production and optimize efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
  • Responsible for managing the plant’s operating budget.

Process Engineering Manager

Overview:

The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for providing overall technical direction for the Process department. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Process Engineering Manager will lead a team of disciplined engineers to execute Air Separation Industrial Gases projects safely and efficiently throughout the proposal, engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup phases. This position will be based in Bethlehem, PA but will require travel to plant locations throughout the region.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, optimization, and performance of world-scale cryogenic air separation plants supporting critical industries.
  • Organize and manage the daily activities of the process engineering and process system discipline group and steward continuous improvement in quality and technical excellence.
  • Review customer inquiries and analyze costs and benefits of various process solutions and select optimum design cases for the system and the equipment.
  • Perform process simulations, develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balances (H&MBs), calculate pressure drops, power and utility consumptions, and products estimates.
  • Size Air Separation Process Equipment (e.g., distillation columns, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, PPU, tanks, cooling towers, etc.) and develop process data sheets and specifications.

VPSA Process Engineer

Overview:

UIG is currently seeking a VPSA Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will be primarily responsible for developing process engineering designs and specifications for UIG Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) projects and commercial proposals. The Process Engineer will also provide Process support for the start-up and ongoing operations of the VPSAs. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze costs and benefits of various process solutions and select optimum design cases for the system and the equipment.
  • Perform process simulations and calculations, write process specifications, and provide accurate process data to support compressors, air chiller, adsorption systems, distillation columns, cold boxes, control valves, relief valves, manual valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, pipeline measurement equipment, analyzers, silencers, cooling towers, and other air separation equipment components specifications and purchasing.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Heat and Material Balances (H&MB).
  • Participate in P&IDs development, HAZOP, plant commissioning and start-up, technical risk analysis, safety and environmental assessments and documentation, ASU troubleshooting and investigations.
  • Review technical aspects of vendor equipment proposals.
  • Keep current with state-of-the-art industrial gas tools, design practices, methods and concepts.
